An unidentified man, on Thursday morning left residents Adebisi Oguniyi Crecent, Lekki Ikate Round about in panic, as he attempted suicide in broad daylight.
While busy people went about their businesses, the man climbed up an electric pole with a ladder. Most people taught he worked with PHCN but were marveled when he climbed to the upmost part of the pole and declared his intention of committing suicide.
Realizing what he was up to, eyewitnesses pleaded with him to come down but he refused and gave them a condition. He said he will only come down if he is given N5million from God knows ‘who or where”
The man whom eyewitnesses said looked mentally unstable was clung to the top of the pole for a long time.
Policemen from Maroko Division arrived on the scene but could not immediately address the situation. They had to figure out a way to lure the man down the pole. They eventually set up an inflatable trampoline for him to jump down but he refused.
They gave up after a while and left. He finally jumped down by himself and according to twitter user
The man gave his name as Fredrick Gino from Cameroon and said he didn’t know how he got to Nigeria. He was then taken to Eti-Osa primary health care centre where he was treated by doctors.
